Scene 1 The Grotto.

Stevie and Annie are in a store waiting to see Father Christmas. They are rather badly behaved. To avoid being told off after trying to pull Santa's beard they rush through a no entry door, which locks behind them. Some surreal scenes unfold.

Scene 2 Party Time in Santa's Place.

They find themselves at a table set for a party. Flaky and his party friends turn out to be very strange indeed, as is Flaky's idea of tasty food.

Scene 3 The Posties.

Penguins are sorting the Christmas post. They helpfully tell the children to climb the second class stairs.

Scene 4 Snowmen: The Abominable Variety.

A dormouse, rabbit and rat complain of the naughty snowmen pulling their tails. The snowmen are no help at all in helping the children get back to Father Christmas.

Scene 5 What Time Is It?

It's two o'clock, and Father Christmas has overslept. He was due back at the store at one. Mother Christmas helps him on with his big boots. He learns that the children are looking for him.

Scene 6 Found at Last.

In the grotto again, Father Christmas produces the key to the no entry door, (which the other staff think is a simple broom cupboard). The children promise never to be bad again.

Stevie             Let’s hide under the table. ( Enter, Snowy, Fairy, Icy, Bruce, Blackie and Robin )

Blackie            Oooooh Snowy! What scrummy, scrumptious looking food.

Snowy             It's really nice of you all to come today. Christmas wouldn't be Christmas without a party. If he’s got time, Santa will pop in later.

Flaky               (Enters with plate of mince pies and a big jug of gravy) Snowy, I thought you might like some mince pies and gravy for the party. (Hands them round)

Everybody        (In unison) Mince pies and gravy?

Blackie            Flaky, you don’t eat mince pies with gravy.

Flaky               Yes you do.

Everybody        (In unison) Oh no you don’t!

Flaky               (Puzzled) Well we had shepherds pie and gravy yesterday and that was mince.

Fairy               That was mince meat Flaky. Mince pies are sweet.

Flaky               Now you’re trying to confuse me. How can you have sweet minced meat pies?

Icy                  Flaky, you are a clot.

Bruce               It’s a good job he didn’t bring us any hot dogs!

Flaky               (Excitedly) I’ve got some hotdogs at home. Would you all like to come round for a meal?

SONG 3 : A MEAL AT FLAKY’S

During the song the characters sit around the table.

Snowy              Thanks for the offer Flaky. Next year perhaps? Now everybody let’s get these crackers pulled and let the party begin.
