Scene 1: The South Pole.
Penguin Pete is a glad it's Christmas, but a bit fed up because Father Christmas will probably be bringing fish as usual.
Scene 2: Journeying to the North Pole.
Pete decides to go and see Father Christmas.
On the way he meets monkeys, camels and kangaroos, who make fun of his flip-
Scene 3: Travelling Onwards.
Pete meets Jack Frost in your town. Jack and his Frostlets dance spikily.
Scene 4: Friendly Snowmen.
The Snowmen are too stiff to pick up their brightly coloured hats, which the wind has blown off. Pete helps.
Scene 5: Sleigh Ride.
Rudolph and Blitzen are heading back to Santa with a brand new sleigh.
They give Pete a lift.
Santa welcomes Pete and gives him some slip-

Cast List
An endearing story of a persistent penguin.
Pete is fed up with getting fish for Christmas. As he travels north to tell Father Christmas he meets kangaroos, monkeys and Jack Frost. He even gets to ride in Santa's new sleigh. Of course, he could always have sent a letter!

SONG 2 : TRAVELLING NORTH
As the animals are mentioned during the song, they enter and move around, standing still at
the side of the stage when the next animal is mentioned. At the end of the song Pete enters.
Announcer SCENE 2 : JOURNEYING TO THE NORTH POLE
Narr 3 Phew, all those hot places on the way.
Narr 4 Jungles, deserts, bushland …
Narr 5 Not a bit the sort of place for a penguin.
Narr 6 But Pete was just passing through on his way to see Santa.
Pete [Approaching the gibbering monkeys] Hello, I’m a penguin.
Millie Never heard of them.
Max Look at those flippy, floppy feet. [They all point]
Mollie Couldn’t climb trees with those.
Pete No, but they’re great for swimming.
[He moves to the stately strolling camels] Hello, I’m a penguin.
Clive Never heard of them.
Chloe Look at those flippy, floppy feet. [They all point]
Colin Couldn’t run in the sand with those.
Pete No, but they’re great for swimming.
[He moves to the hopping kangaroos] Hello, I’m a penguin.
Carol Never heard of them.
Chris Look at those flippy, floppy feet. [They all point]
Kim Couldn’t bounce around the bush with those.
Pete No, but they’re great for swimming … and they’ll get me to see Father Christmas.
Kim Oh, you’re going to see Father Christmas are you?
All He’s that way. [They all point]
Pete Thanks. Bye. [The animals exit]
