Scene 1 : Getting ready.

Elves are grooming the reindeer and packing presents.

Scene 2 : Where's that hat?

Santa is just about to set off to deliver the presents, but cannot find his hat.

Scene 3 : Strolling Snowmen.

The snowmen say they are clever, but cannot tell the elves where Santa's hat is.

Scene 4 : Hedgehog hideaway.

Santa had tucked in the hedgehogs for winter, and the elves thought Santa might have left his hat there.

Scene 5 : Silly Santa.

When Santa gets up from his chair he discovers that he has been sitting on his hat all the time.

Several snowmen, [as many as you wish], stroll into Santa’s garden and the elves

leave Santa’s house to look for them.

 

Elsie Elf           [ Tugging on Sam’s arm ]

                      Hello Sam Snow, we have a big problem. Can you help us?

 

Ethel Elf          Snowmen always know the answers.

 

Eric Elf            We are depending on you.

 

Sam Snow        [ Big gesture with arms ] You can ask any question you want ...

 

Sara Snow        [ Points to all the snowmen ] ... because we’ve got all the answers.

 

SONG 3 : ASK A SNOWMAN

You might devise a simple dance for this song as the snowmen,

[and snow women!] start to move rather stiffly.

 

Susie Snow       So elves, you can see how clever we are.

 

Stevie Snow      What’s your question then?

 

Ernest Elf         Where is Santa’s hat?

 

All snowmen     [The snowmen huddle together and have a little conference then shrug in unison, turning their palms upward ]

                      Sorry, we can’t answer that one

 

All Elves           [ Slapping their foreheads ] Doh!!

 

Narrator 1         Not as clever as they thought then!

                       [ Exit snowmen. Elves sit in a huddle and discuss their next plan ]

 

Announcer         SCENE 4 - HEDGEHOG HIDEAWAY

 

Narrator 2         The elves remembered that Santa had been to tuck in the hedgehogs.
