Announcer SCENE 4 : THE SNOWSTORM

The scene is set outside Santa’s workshop

Robin 1            [ Enter robins shivering ] This snowstorm is terrible.

Robin 2            There is so much snow and wind we can't even fly.

Robin 3            I don't like being grounded … I'd much rather be in the air!

                       [They stand in a huddle]

[ Enter Squirrel, Hedgehog and Mouse shivering ]

Squirrel            What a dreadful storm. I can't see where I've hidden my nuts.

Hedgehog         The wind blew my warm leaves off me and woke me up.

Mouse              [ Squeaky voice ] My mouse hole is blocked up with snow and I can't get in.

[ They stand in a huddle opposite the other robins ]

[ Enter the Snowmen, laughing and joking ]

Snowman 1      Yippee, this is the best weather we've had for a long time.

Snowman 2      Don't you just love all those great big swirling snowflakes!

Snowman 3      What a lovely icy wind blowing all around.

Snowman 4      Snow, snow and more snow.

Snowman 5      We like snow!

Creatures         [ In unison ]  Well we don't!

Robin 1           Not this much snow anyway.

Robin 2            [ Preening himself ] Just enough for a pretty postcard picture with me on it.

Hedgehog        [ Yawning sleepily ]  I want to get back to sleep.

Mouse             [ Squeaky voice ] And I want to get home for my tea.  Cheese on toast.

Snowmen         [ In unison ]  No … stay and play. This snow is lovely.

SONG 6 : SNOWMEN QUITE LIKE IT

During the verses the animals and snowmen could perform a dance/mime routine.

At the end of the song they all remain on stage and ‘freeze’ into a tableau.
