Narr 4             … little did they know who they were going to meet.

SONG 5 : BIG BAD WOLF

During the song the wolves enter, and dance.

Wilf                [Gruffly] ‘Ello everybody. I’m Wilf the wolf and I eat sheep.

Winnie            I’m Winnie the wolf and I eat sheep too.

Walter            I’m Walter the wolf and I just love to eat a scrummy sheep.

Wendy            I’m Wendy the wolf and I’m a vegetarian.

     [The sheep enter]

Wilf                ‘Ello little sheep, are you hungry?

Sandy             No, I’ve eaten so much grass I’m full up.

Winnie            Are you sure your tummy isn’t rumbling just a little bit?

Susie              No, I’m not at all peckish.

Walter            Well WE ARE STARVING, and it’s TIME for TEA!

Wendy            Run sheep, run … back to your good shepherd! Wilf wants to eat you up.

[A race around the stage ensues. Lots of bleating and shouts for Sam]

Sam               [Enters brandishing his shepherd’s crook, his flock following on.]

Go and pick on somebody your own size. Or I’ll have you for my dinner.

[He beats the Wilf with his crook, the wolves run off and Sandy and

                     Susie cower behind Sam]

Sandy             Oh Sam we were so frightened.

Sam                [Addresses the flock] So you see, my dear little sheep, how dangerous it

can be to stray away from the fold. You must learn to do what you are

                      told.

[Angels enter, arms raised. They stand behind Sam, who does not see

                      Them]

Susie               [All the sheep cower] Oh no, this is really scary.

Sam                Well it’s over now Susie. Calm down, you are frightening the others.

Susie               [Looking at the angels] This is really very, VERY scary.

As Mary and Joseph are travelling to Bethlehem, they meet the sheep and warn them of the dangers of being on their own. They have heard a wolf howling.

We meet a bunch of sheep eating wolves, (except for Wendy the wolf, who is a vegetarian). Two more naughty sheep meet them also, and are chased, before Sam rescues them.
