Enid Elf            [Stands up] I’m going to play the xylophone. That’s good for Christmas music.

[Enid takes the xylophone and returns to her place.

Elvin enters with a didgeridoo – long cardboard tube]

Elvin               [Loudly]  Please Miss, can I play the didgeridoo?

Teacher           No Elvin, you can not play the didgeridoo. Put it away. [He exits]

Erin Elf            [Stands up]  I’m going to play the triangle. That’s good for Christmas music.

[Erin takes the triangle and returns to her place.

Elvin enters with a snare drum]

Elvin               [Loudly]   Please Miss, can I play the snare drum?

Teacher           Alright Elvin, as long as you play in time.

Elvin                [Loudly]   Please Miss I need a drumstick.

[Looks around at everybody, then snatches Sugar Plum’s wand]

    This will do.

[Elvin bangs the drum , the wand breaks and he drops it to the floor]

Sugar Plum       [Picking up the wand]   Oh no, you’ve broken my magic wand.

Teacher            Elvin, you’re a very naughty elf. Say you’re sorry to Sugar.

Elvin                You’re sorry to Sugar. [He giggles and runs off]

Teacher            [To Sugar]   Go find Father Christmas. His magic glue should mend your wand. You might find him at Mrs. Toy Tester’s. [Sugar exits with her broken wand]

SONG 2 : MAKE MUSIC AT CHRISTMAS

Actors play their instruments along with the song. Other instrumentalists could be brought on to perform in the song. At the end all exit.

Narr 1              Well, Elvin is still making mischief. And in school too!

Narr 2              Poor Sugar Plum, her magic wand is broken.

Narr 3              Let’s hope she finds Santa and his magic glue at Mrs. Toy Tester’s.

Santa's Back Yard

Sugar Plum and the other fairies go to get Rudolph ready. Elvin, the very naughty elf, tricks Santa when they are packing the sleigh. When Santa finds out, Elvin runs off.

Christmas School

Elves and fairies are practicing Christmas carols. Elvin wants to play the electric guitar, didgeridoo and snare drum. He takes Sugar Plum's wand to beat his drum and breaks it before running off.

Mrs. Toy Tester

Sugar Plum goes looking for Father Christmas to mend her wand. She comes upon the toy tester, who demonstrates all the toys.

There are dance/movement tracks on the CD for this.

Elvin grabs the remote control and makes the toys crash into each other. Sugar Plum sorts them out.

At the Toy Warehouse

Old Ebenezer Elf is packing boxes. Elvin scares him and makes him drop them all. After Elvin has run off, Sugar Plum, looking for Santa, helps Ebenezer pick them all up again.

The Tinsel Tidying Teams

Teams of workers are sorting a big pile of jumbled tinsel into separate colours. When they return after having had a tea break, they discover their tidied tinsel is tangled. Alvin did it.

Santa's back yard again

Elvin says he is really, really sorry for all he has done. Santa tells Sugar Plum that she has brought a little bit of magic into people's lives even without a magic wand.
